The quiet port of Aguilas lies at the southern most point of Costa Calida in the province of Murcia . Only recently has Aguilas seen its first few tourists. It lies in the middle of 2 international airports Almeria and Alicante and you can reach there in about 2 hours. Its original scenic beauty overpowers Aguilas. Everywhere, one finds small discreet bays that even in the high peak of the summer are not overcrowded. You can go on excursions up to the beautiful mountains of Sierra de Almenara where the remains of the medieval Moorish Fortress still remain. The first carnival of the year changes Alguilas into a small Rio de Janeiro with dancing where people from around the world come to participate. Somewhat south of Aguilas lays a small town called San Juan de los Terreros that also has the same touristy potential as Aguilas |
