Guardamar lies approximately 30 km south of Alicante and at the foot of the Segura River which is well known for its 11km long protected dune beach. It is lined with agaves, pines and eucalyptus leaves. Guardamar, which was once a fishing village, now has 8000 inhabitants and thrives on the tourist trade. There are real estates either close to the coast or inland where there are splendid views of the Mediterranean. From La Marina and Guardamar one can reach the airport of Alicante in approximately 25 minutes. The golf course of La Marquesa in Cuidad Quesada is only 10 minutes away. Cultural life can be seen in the Palm City of Elche.
